WHAT WE DO

Talking therapy:

If you are experiencing emotional difficulties on your journey to, or through, parenthood then you may benefit from psychological support via talking therapy.

After a period of assessment (up to 3 sessions) we work together to develop a shared understanding (we sometimes refer to this as a formulation) of your story and clarify your hopes for therapy. This unique working formulation then determines the therapeutic pathway.

As clinical psychologists we are trained in an array of therapies so we have the unique ability to work in integrated ways to meet your individual needs. More detailed information on approaches will be discussed with you in sessions.

Key therapeutic approaches include:

Each sessions lasts up to 50 minutes

Sessions can take place online, over the telephone, or in person. Face to face sessions are available in clinic spaces in Central and West Lancashire. Walk and Talk sessions, alongside other community-based sessions may also be available if deemed appropriate following the assessment and formulation. Sessions usually take place weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs but this will be discussed with you during the assessment.

Costs of talking therapy:

Individual session – £130

Applications for concessions are accepted. Please contact us for more information.

Please note: While experiencing suicidal and intrusive thoughts can be a common experience, we cannot support people in crisis. Meaning, if you are planning to act on thoughts of harming yourself or others, we ask that you seek help from emergency services, your GP and /or your local crisis team. We are not a 24 hours service and do not have access to the resources needed to support people in a crisis or emergency.
